About Phil Stubbs

Phil Stubbs is an experienced professional with specific expertise in making improvements in Customer Services and Delivery Operations. Most recently he was Head of Operational Support for JD Williams & Co Ltd, a highly successful home shopping business, based in Manchester city centre. He headed a department with responsibility for Forecasting, Planning, Real Time Management, Management Information and Project Management across the Business's virtualised, multi-site Customer Services and Sales function.

Previously, he led planning and support teams for Pipex, GE Capital and Cable & Wireless. At Pipex, one of Phil's tasks was to ensure that its operations was ready to deal with the response to an advertising campaign featuring David Hasselhoff.

He also spent four years as a Senior Consultant for Trinity Horne, a niche consultancy recently acquired by BearingPoint. Further back in time, Phil managed an Operational Research team for Littlewoods, and was an Operational Research Analyst for British Gas plc.

His first degree was in Management Studies and Operational Research at Leeds University. He went on to complete a Master's degree in Operational Research, achieved with distinction, at Lancaster University Management School.

Phil's expertise in forecasting is built on very strong academic study, backed up with over 20 years of real-world problem solving within a wide range of industries - including utilities, telecoms, retail, outsourcing and finance. He also has considerable experience in other Operational Research disciplines such as scheduling, inventory control, simulation, resource requirement modelling and queueing theory.

Phil has a strong commercial focus, and has developed further skills in negotiation, people management and coaching to complement his technical experience.

His interests include road cycling, taekwondo and film journalism. He lives in Manchester, UK.
